About us...
Thoas Lodge is, above all, a story of connection, between us, Emmanuel and Fabrice, two French guys seeking a new way of life, and a country, a culture, and untouched natural beauty.
In the heart of Tres Ríos de Osa, we discovered a genuine Tico village, nestled close to everything that makes the Osa Peninsula legendary:
whales watching, the Corcovado and Piedras Blancas national parks, vast mangroves, hidden waterfalls, unspoiled beaches just ten minutes away, and for the more adventurous, canyoning and ziplining through the jungle canopy.
What sealed our decision? The land itself—its river, its natural pool—inviting us to live in harmony with nature.
Thus, Thoas Lodge was born, designed with respect for the environment: sustainable wood construction (a true carbon sink), modern and open architecture, and solar energy for both electricity and hot water.
WHY THOAS ?
“Thoas Papilio” is the Latin name of the Giant Swallowtail butterfly, which we spotted during our very first visit.
Many others followed...
each one lending its name to one of our lodge casitas.
So… will you be the Morpho, the Long-tailed Tanna?
Or perhaps the mysterious Black Witch?
